This upgrade allows you to take full advantage of your FermZilla. With this pressure kit you can turn your FermZilla into a full-fledged fermentation tank. Here you can ferment, pressurize and serve from one and the same tank!
With ball lock connections you can easily ensure completely oxygen-free transfer from the fermentation tank to the cornelius barrel.
Fermentation under pressure:
By fermenting under pressure, you reduce fusel and fruit esters from the yeast. Most commercial beer is fermented this way.
It is recommended to use an adjustable pressure relief valve so that you have full control over the final carbonation pressure. See accessories further down the page.
Recommended pressure is 0.6-1.0 bar (10-15psi). Higher pressures than this may have negative consequences for fermentation and will cause unnecessary wear on the equipment.
Carbonation and serving:
When you ferment under pressure, the beer will already be fully carbonated when it is finished fermenting. FermZilla can be used as a serving tank, then you connect directly from the tank to the tap using the ball lock connections. The float ball means that the beer is always served from the top for the least possible sediment. You can also use a filtration system between FermZilla and the keg, if you wish.
No risk of oxidation:
From the very beginning of fermentation, CO2 will build up in the fermentation tank. If you ferment under pressure, there will also be no risk of oxygen being sucked in during cold-crashing. The ball lock connections then ensure a completely closed transfer to the barrel.
