Based on 55% wheat malt and 45% barley malt.
Spray malt, also called DME (dried malt extract), is wort that has been boiled and freeze-dried into a powder form. It is possible to use spray malt alone to make beer, or spray malt can be added to your wort during the boiling process if you want to increase the gravity (OG).
Spray malt is also recommended for use in yeast starters. The yeast must be propagated using maltose as a starting material. If regular sugar (sucrose or fructose) is used, the yeast will not propagate properly and the fermentation will be poor.
